The video file is compressed into flv format. (videoclip1313adw.flv)

I spent many late night doing the testing and check in the web for the solution but unable to find a direct simple soluntion. Until now I finally found a way to do.

Solution:
For the soluntion to work I would need to have 2 domain name.

Step 1: Creating the file where the client can access to view the flv video.
I name this file as "video.html" and save it in my main domain (which is www.wedding-dv.com)

Minimum html for it to work are: ( all the html tag is replace from "<" to "[" ) [!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN"]
[html lang="en"]
[head]
[title]video[/title]
[/head]
[body]
[script src="http://www.snhvolunteer.com/viz/video.js" type="text/javascript"]
[/script]
[/body]
[/html]

-------
end of video.html

Note the javascript file at "http://www.snhvolunteer.com/viz/video.js". This is the file to direct the swf and the flv file location.

Next the javascript file "video.js" and save it in the other domain (http://www.snhvolunteer.com/test/viz/video.js):

document.write (' [embed src="http://wedding-dv.com/flvplayer/flvplayer.swf" allowfullscreen="true" allowscriptaccess="always"');
document.write (' flashvars="&displayheight=480&file=http://www.wedding-dv.com/video/videoclip1313adw.flv&height=272&width=480" height="272" width="480"][/embed]');

------
end of video.js

The filename for the video clip is select in a way that other can't guess it.

Step 2: Now the part where you will control the access by ".htaccess"

".htaccess" for the directory: http://www.snhvolunteer.com/test/viz where the javascript file video.js is located:

RewriteEngine On
RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^http://(.+\.)?wedding-dv.com/ [NC]
RewriteRule .*\.(js)$ - [F,L]

----
end of ".htaccess" for the http://www.snhvolunteer.com/viz

the "RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^http://(.+\.)?wedding-dv.com/ [NC]" is a condition check. The video.js file is denial access if it is not access through the domain name http://www.wedding-dv.com. This prevent direct url to view the content of the video.js file.

Step 3: using ".htaccess" to prevent listing of directory if there is no index file (may not need if you have an index file in the directory where the "videoclip1313adw.flv" file is store.

IndexIgnore *

----
end of ".htaccess" for the http://www.wedding-dv.com/video/

Step 4: test that the video.js is protected from direct url access by http://www.snhvolunteer.com/viz/video.js

That it is. A video file sample will not be download by hiding it location and filename thru javascript file and access protection using .htaccess rewrite function.

got the inspiration from
http://www.javascriptkit.com/howto/htaccess.shtml

Con:
There 1 major weakness, if the files can still be seen in the internet explorer "Temporary Internet Folder".
